Participants of the last Familienfest (2009) might have wondered during the play how the egyptian pharao Ramses the Great, which lived around 1320 to 1240 B.C., is involved in our family history. It is very easy: Ramses the Great is the oldest well known ancestor of all the Naeff's. The historical work „Die Vorfahren der Familie Steinlin von St.Gallen“ (The ancestors of the family Steinlin of St. Gallen), penned by Uli Steinlin, contains more information about Ramses the Great and much more about our family.

While I am at it, here is a little update what is going on:

• We are revising the family tree, which means:
  • we are correcting some errors in the software of the online family tre
  • we are correcting errors in the family tree data
  • I am looking for a better solution as online family tree (with graphical display, more possibilities etc.). If anyone has experience, I am thankful for tips
• Some positions in the committee have been or will be redistributed, to old and new committee members
• revising the website (new articles like anecdotes of the celebrations, pictures, articles, ...). We are also happy about any contributions here.

Because we all do these things beside school/work, the changes will not be finished overnight. As soon as something changes, you will be informed here on the website.

The DVD of the family celebration 2009 is ready and can be ordered (if you did not already order a copy at the celebration). In addition, you can also order a DVD of the family celebrations of 1974, 1984, 1989, 1999, 1979 and 2004. Extending the celebration to three days was a success and on the whole everything worked out well. Also Petrus (the weather ;) ) spared us during the essential hours and thus contributed to three days which hopefully remain in good memory.
